I'm moving this question up to the top of the heap for the lucky few who witnessed "tuba history" in the making...

What was the ensemble like for this scoring session? Was the brass section balanced out, or was it kinda disproportionately heavy on the low end? I know the soundtrack for "Soldier" had six tubas in it and a massive brass choir, but I was a little disappointed in how it was used.

Certainly the music's there to serve the movie, not a bunch of tuba-blowin' wackos who want to hear A in four octaves, but it sure is nice every once in a while to really hear the "support staff" cut loose...
