I'd try #2. It's a good showpiece for your airflow, tone AND MUSICALITY. I you can make that piece sound the way it can sound, you should knock that Prof. dead. *S* If this seems a little early in the book, then just find a more advanced one with a lot of runs like the middle of 2 (arpeggiated scaled over breaks and between registers etc.).

PS,

Another great book to get into (assuming you haven?t already) is the Tyrell 40 studies for BBb tuba. That's as good a book for developing technical skills as Rochut is for lyrical playing.
