I've never met anyone who could circular breathe in that particular register. I always play this on a CC tuba and concentrate on just blending into the other bass sounds and don't worry about if I have to breathe or not.

Personally, I never saw the point in circular breathing at all. If we try to relate the premise of tuba-playing to singing, how many singers do any of us know that circular breathe? For that matter, how many great string players do we know that do not allow time for breath? To me it takes away from the natural phrasing of the music ifr we eliminate the breath...the breath is part of the music. Granted, in this instance we are merely holding a pedal note, but i don;t think that circular breathingbthsi passage necessarily adds anything to the music.

Just my own biased thoughts ;-)
