It is true, I played the Boccalari as a sophomore/junior in high school. Maybe it was just a good combination for me back then because, as you well know, I'm no technical magician. Something about that piece really clicked for me and I fell head first. I was inspired when I heard the piece performed by another high school student, a high school sophomore euphonium player whom I constantly ran into at all state bands, and I vowed to learn it myself. The other pieces you listed are all excellent choices as well. I especially liked Napoli and the Mozart. Ironically, I found the Mozart much more difficult than the Boccalari. Just goes to show you.
