Gerard Hoffnung was a German ex-patriot who went to live in England during the war. He was a cartoonist with musical tendencies but always considered himself an amateur player! There is a great biography written by his wife (unfortunately he died rather young and curiously he always said that he would) Anetta. There are also some of his cartoon collections available and these often have musical and cat themes. I have several of them and they always generate conversation when guests visit the bathroom..............
