Our band director got a $400 repair kit that includes repair items for woodwinds and brass instruments and I got some valve pads meant for trumpets that work fine. I replaced all the felts on my CB50 and that results are astounding! I say "felts" originally because the new ones are kind of a foam base but they work astonishingly. Anyone ever used any kind of foam "felts" before? Also, the valves bounce off the valve cap JUST SLIGHTLY when I let them go. It doesn't seem to have affected my playing or anything but I thought I read somewhere that it is not good. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
