I personally have a 6/4 Chicago Holton with 22" upright bell sitting in the basement. It was a 3 valve top action missing the valves. I would love to overhaul it, put on a new, front action valve set and have it replated. The queston is, after I spend $1500 on a new valve set, $1500 replating the horn (farming out for quality buffing, degrease, and shipping to Anderson) and factor in the $500 I paid for the carcass, can I sell it for more than $4000? I'd sure like to do that, but I can get more for it if I make it a CC tuba. Maybe next year. Matt
