Daryl, have you tried the DE on any of the heavier-built tubas, such as the old Besson BBb? The branch that always seems to get creamed on the back side of the horn away from the bell appears as if it may be too heavy for the DE to do any good.
What's the smallest tube on a tuba that you've successfully tried the DE on?
