That actually should have read "I am by far NOT the greatest BD in the world" it was late.

Call me pragmatic, foolish, stupid or whatever you will, but before I took my new Eb to rehearsal, I got comfortable with it. When I got my first CC, I practiced before I even considered taking it to class. Class time is for the group, we can learn technique and fix fundemental problems, but a student working from a fingering chart at the H.S. level just slows down the pace of class. I personally don't understand why any director wouldn't want their tuba players to get their own horns. I wish all of mine would, but they'll need to spend a couple of weeks in the woodshed before they bring it in. I don't think that's too much to ask.
