I agree. The business of choosing an instrument is purely subjective. You just need to be well in touch with your playing needs and aspirations to have a good handle on what equipment will work best for you at your present stage of development and usage. I recently checked out a new PT-4 and 2145 out of curiousity and they were both excellent horns, I thought. Mirafone is making some better horns these days, but my own purposes are mainly for quintet, and if I didn't have an great older 3/4 Rudy, I'd be into getting a PT-4 rotary. As stated before, however, all models are subject to variations in quality, so care is needed in finding a good horn for your money.
