You are so right, along the lines of the equally useless "German" vs. "American" F tuba thread that had me howling with delight a while back. Truthfully, the sound of the Eb with the Baritone was GREAT, and if you get the right Bernstein Conducts Concerts for Young People Video Tape, you can see the duo in action on the Dies Irae. That's a trend that should come back. Really lean and loud sound!!!!
