Yamaha tried to market the 841's a while back, but felt that they couldn't be sold in US markets. The 841 model BBb is primarily sold to European customers. One of these sat around the Grand Rapids warehouse/factory for a while. About 2 or 3 years ago a tuba player in my band (the Grand Rapids Symphonic Band) bought the horn. It has a nice full sound, and seems to have better overall pitch than most other Yamaha BBb's on the market. The 841 fell into a higher price range, and the "target market" in the US for this price range usually leans towards CC tubas.
