Sound comes first. Period. Equipment changes can help a player, especially mouthpieces, but none are a substitute for hard work. Maybe you can go to a nearby store and try different mp's. Try some different ones that other players use. I havent' played the Yamaha 67 or the Bach 7 MT. It's hard to recommend mp's, as we all are different and have different needs. I encourage players to use something with a flat, narrow, sharp rim (for accuracy/playability) - a Helleberg type mouthpiece i.e. - Conn Helleberg, Schilke Helleberg II, Floyd Cooley Helleberg, etc. unless they have a physical problem precluding their use. With these, you can get all the things (usually) for which you are looking. Don't ever sacrifice your good sound, whatever you do. Hard work can overcome most problems anyway.
