Think critically about what is wrong in my playing, and then play stuff that requires me to be good in those areas. I suspect that successful players have focused on their weaknesses instead of working around them, so that eventually their weaknesses became their strengths.
This is strategic advice, not tactical. Tactical stuff is what exercise you select to address the weakness you identify. I've found that if I miss the strategy, I never seek out useful tactics.
