Any large hobby shop that deals in parts for Radio Control aircraft will have the parts you need. These places can be very helpful and won't laugh when you tell them what you're trying to do.
The job will require sawing off the pivot at the end of the arm from the spatula and drilling a hole there to receive the ball mount. If you take your time and think the process through before you start, you can achieve good results. I've used the flimsy looking nylon sockets and threaded rod which held up for me for over 20 years on an old Sanders/Cerveny CC. It is well worth the effort, because it eliminates a lot of lost motion and noise. The tools you will need are a fine-toothed metal saw, a vise, drill, drill bit of the right size for the posts on the balls, courage and some dexterity. Good luck. Write if you have questions.
