IMO, matching sounds would eliminate the reason for having two tubas to begin with.
I play an American style CC and a German style F, only as a matter of happenstance: I liked the tubas I bought at the time I bought them (I still like 'em).
Coincidentally, they are both Meinl-Westons: a 2155 CC and a 45s F.
Though my situation is completely coincidental, some brand loyalty is only natural. If you have one Brand X tuba and love it, you're going to try the Brand X models first when shopping for a new axe. It only makes sense. Should you stop at Brand X? Absolutely not. You may find one in Brand Y that's far better for you. I happened to choose Brand MW, but I fell in love with the Besson CC I played all the same...
