I met Markus at Tanglewood when we did John Adams Harmonielehre. Great player and all-around good person. He was there working with the Brass Quintet program. With his chops, I would definitely recommend getting a lesson with him. I couldn't believe that he survived the last 2 pages of the Adams without some serious damage (he had the LOW part). All I remember is him lying on the floor of the stage, completely hyperventilated and saying "I can't believe how loud you were playing", over and over while trying to get his eyes to focus. Needless to say I was in a similar situation at the time. What a blow!
