As I recall, the balls in the old, crappy Miraphone ball linkage (with the white-plastic joints) are screwed into the stop arm and possible soft-soldered in place. I had a hard time removing them until I put a little heat on the situation.

But the installation is not reversible. I seem to recall that the threads of the old Miraphone linkages is smaller than the 4-40 threads on the Dubro ball joints.

Same thing--the old linkage is threaded in place and soldered. I have sawed off the outer rivet head, and then unscrewed the shaft after applying a bit of heat. Again, removing the old linkages is not reversible, at least it wasn't for me.

Maybe BRUCE could remove the old ones without damaging them, but I rather think not since the only too he'll use is a 16-ounce ball-pein hammer.
