My collection of pics does not reflect my own collection of instruments. The latter is smaller by dimensions compared to the former. And rather few of my instruments are illustrated among the pics.

One principle of my picture collection is, that I do not post pictures, that I only have seen on dedicated sites concentrating on Stölzel valves and the like. Also I try to stay away from mimicing brass maker's sites.

My sources are temporary presentations on the web, please read auction sites. So my pics basically reflect the more interesting end of the auction marketplaces, that I can manage to follow.

In the US I have given up on following auctions on trumpets, cornets, horns, and trombones, as the market is too huge. In Europe the most interesting markets are those of Germany, the UK, Austria, and France in a prioritised sequence.

Sadly the most interesting markets now are flooded with bad new instruments from inferior Asian makers. Which sometimes make you utterly immune to yelling headlines.

So I am sure I have missed lots of interesting samples of brasses. And I have found no Stölzel valves yet. Which fact somehow also might be a reflection of the market.

If my collection of pics has any strengths, then the catalogue scans and documentation of central European brass makers and a wealth of permutations in brass designs.

Several TubeNet'ters and posters on other lists have contributed hints and real stuff to the collection of pics. I am extremely grateful for that. Clear .jpg's with an interesting background history always are welcome. However I for security reasons never give credit to owners and photographers.

I no longer can remember all pics by heart, but for most of them I have saved the background story, which I will reveal to correspondents with special interests.

Enjoy!
