I just bought one from Tony Clements. I was out at his shop on saturday and drove home with one on sunday. I think it is a great F tuba. It is only a little smaller than the Yamaha 822 in dimensions but I think it projects better and has a GREAT low range. It is still a big bore F tuba with lots of sound! Tony measured the bore at around .750 ( same as the willson F) larger than the bore on the E flat Pat Sheridan playes and only slightly smaller than the yamaha which is only .768. I used to own the yamaha 822 but I like the Gronitz better. Also, the Gronitz has a different 5th valve, it is tuned to a tritone, thought I wouldn't like it but I LOVE it, you can play a pedal F using 3 valves and avoid that hard to focus open pedal. If you have more questions you can email me offlist.
