If you are needing a different horn to get through college, then a couple options would be to try the Brasswind, Chuck Leven's Washington Music (I've found my best deals here), and Baltimore Brass.
Call Steve Bryant, Brian Bowman, Kevin Wass (Tech), David Wilborn (A&M), and David Graves (Baylor) to see if they have any students selling horns or if they know of any that are available out there. If you go play for one or more of these guys they may have a suggestion for you for what horn you might want to lean towards.
It would be a good thing to go get a lesson with some of them. This is the right time for you if you are looking to major in music.
