Where were you when you saw the "blanket case"? I have an old serape looking blanket that I sewed up to "protect" my old recording bass as there are no cases readily available for it. I also built a monster-nearly bomb proof plywood crate for carting it overseas for a gig. (I'm in the Denver area.) My best tip is; When you find techniques and practices that work for you stick with it. Don't change good methodology for every fad that comes along.
