I just listened to Alex Ivy, an a second year senior at UNT, perform a recital, and I think that it was one of the best recitals I've ever heard. He played Legend of the Purple Hills, Salve Venere; Salve Marte, Three Miniatures, Carnival of Venice, and as an encore, he performed a couple of charts with a dixie band that he's in. His performance of Purple Hills was very enjoyable thanks to his clear, warm tone and great musicianship. The John Stevens was performed very well. A couple of small accuracy problems, but played very well overall. His performance of the Plog was one of the best that I've ever heard. Very clear tone and great accuracy on a very difficult piece. The Carnival of Venice was astounding. Alex played such hard piece and made them sound easy. The encore of dixie was an awesome extra. Alex should be proud of his accomplishments. Once again, congrats to Alex Ivy on a great performance.
