Currently, quality control is very spotty, but improving (as it was on Yamaha instruments decades ago). No comment on political philosophy other than saying that the China referred to as the manufacturer is the one of Mao, not of Chiang Kai Shek.
One day, I suspect we'll be viewing the Chinese tubas in much the same way that we currently view Yamaha instruments.
