I always try to find out what kind of tuba will be the best FIT with the player. If you play only brass quintet and church group, you don't beed a 7/4 immensaphone B.A.T. If you only do band playing and rare chamber music, a big tuba would be better. THEN play everything in your price range. Buy the tuba that makes the SOUND you want to make. We are, after all, in an AURAL art.
