As for intonation: I have an older 184 CC that has some intonation problems in the octave from middle C down. I've found with a couple alternate fingerings and some lip bending, that I can play it in tune. But it took a while to get used to it enough to find these fixes. I'm not a slide puller either....if I can't lip it or cross-finger it, I probably won't play the instrument. I always try to use a mouthpiece that gives me soom room for bending, so that I can play the way I want to.
