I was a tuba player in a Active Army Band for 6 years. There are about 40 active Army bands each which have three tubas and two baritones. The baritones are not required in the army to play trombone but most of them did for stage band. Then the Army has what is called special bands. The special bands are like presidents Own, and three other stationed units each with 70 players as well a chorus. Each one of those probably had 3 baritone players.
