I'd start bustin' my rear to save money for a new horn before I'd finance one. Deliver pizza's, mow yards, anything... working 80 hours a week for a month isn't nearly as bad as taking 48 payments (or worse) on a horn and eating 21% interest... the finance charges could easily add up to the full cost of the horn before you pay it off.
See if your parents would match your saving $ for $ or maybe find that "rich uncle".
You might also suggest that it may get you some scholarships. I wasn't even a music major and the scholorships I got more than paid for the horn.
