I guess I don't look at reading Eflat parts by reading as BC and
adding flats as a way to avoid learning Eflat fingerings. It's my
way of reading the music in concert pitch, which is much easier for
me to deal with. I learn a separate set of fingerings to produce
concert pitch notes on each different keyed horn. Then I learn a
way of reading music written in any key as concert pitch. Some
written keys like Eflat or Bflat Treble Clef (read as tenor clef,
add two flats) are easy. Some, like reading F parts, require just
sitting down and learning it. Works for me, but we are all wired
differently.
