Now I have played that horn, in fact the night I futzed
around with it I also played a bit on two fairly new 186-5U CC
Mirafones, for MY money I hafta say there was no contest.
My personal preference then was for the 186's, I thought
the 2145 seemed small for me. I have not played that horn since then
(it was over a year ago) and since then I have personally switched
over to CC, a large-ish Bohm&Meinl.
While my preference today might be different, for someone shopping
I think I'd probably recommend shopping for the best-sounding 186 you can find.
