Mirafone mouthpieces

I've got a great friend who plays BBb bass(we both are on CC)
with me in the Commonwealth Brass Band. He's got this wonderful
1960's vintage Mirafone 186, and he plays it with the C4 the
came with the horn. I love the sound he gets, and he really does
sound great with it, but he feels he needs something with a
little deeper cup/bigger throat for the low stuff that we do.
We've tried the Bach/Helleberg/Wick/PT route and havn't found
anything that felt comfortable to him, or that he sounded as
good with. So we were both wondering, I know there are half a
dozen other Mirafone mouthpiece sizes out there. Do any of them
have the same rim size and style as the C4 but bigger in the
cup? Or is there a piece on the market that has the C4 rim with
a bigger cup/throat?

Thanks,
Robert Coulter
