You are correct about the PT-50 formerly being designated as the PT-20. However, the PT-88 is what used to be the PT-10, with slight modifications, most noticeable in the size of the throat bore. The latest 88s are slightly smaller in the throat than they were when I bought mine (I have three) in '91-'92. I was with Bob Tucci at his Tuba Center in Munich this past October, and we compared mine with some new ones fresh off the shelf.

I use the PT-88 about 90% of the time on my Yorkbrunner in the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. It provides lots of resonance with a very colorful mix of overtones, and is very efficient in the low register. Very comfortable rim also.
