Absolutely right, I've used so little of my 2 lb. tub in the last 15 years that you can hardly tell any of it is gone. I'm pretty sure this tub of lanolin will outlast me! I probably should have weighed in on the microbe discussion earlier in this post. I can't imagine a more conducive environment to microbial growth than a dark, warm, undisturbed place like the inside of the tub of lanolin I have. Since I've stuck my hands in there a number of times (never once washed my hands before, always washed them afterwards...) I'm sure there were microbes imparted to the lanolin. I know that "anhydrous" means "without water" but I wonder if they treat the lanolin in some other way that helps inhibit any microbial growth, maybe like a pasteurization procedure. This stuff sure is pretty amazing!
