Once the St. Pete tries to go against the good Cervenys and VMIs (the 3301 is _dangerous_ in this price range, but I'm biased towards it!), it's got a tough time matching up.
Not to mention that there are used tubas out there that might be in better shape & already better constructed than a new St. Pete of any version.
