Check out the Yamaha 641 & 642. These are good quality euphoniums that have a good sound. Also I've heard some noise about the new Meinl-Weston 451 and it seems to be a good horn, a lot cheaper than the Yamahas( Brasswind has it for $2895 right now, this is price for silver finish ). I haven't played it though so make sure you ask if they can let you have a trial period which they do allow. Trust me on the compensating system. I've played on a Yamaha 321 for the past five years as a second instrument to the tuba and it was a pain dealing with pulling slides. Whenever I played on a friend's 642 it was much more in-tune and a lot easier to play. Good luck.

James
