The instrument makers HAVE caught on to this. At Warren Deck's insistence,
Gerhard Meinl changed the design of the early 2165 (Deck-o-phone)to use the
larger "no dimple" valves. I've played both versions, and there is a difference.
The Nirschls are also built this way.
