I have a 5 valve besson euph. . . the serial number puts it around 1896. . . 5th valve is half step. . . the forth and fifth come straight out the side. . . I've used it on a few gigs (it's my only euphonium as I am a tuba guy) valves are shot and tuning is a bear but sound and projection are good (and the price was right) Great engravings. . . it's marked prototype. . .
