I seem to remember that in 1995 the IUP Marching band had tubas on a drum like chest harness. They had a king 2341 or somthing like it with a recording bell and the harness was mounted to a body formed metal harness. I was teaching low brass with a marching Band at the time and they were one of the exhibition bands. You might want to check out the bands info at Indiana University of Pennsylvania web site.
