I still think that the Yamaha YEP-321 is a great little horn for the part time euphonium player. I have an older, somewhat beat up one, and it still sounds great. Yamahas are generally very consistent too. I had a newer Jupiter 470 that was OK, but the Yamaha has a fuller sound, even with the small shank leadpipe. I have heard good things about the King 2280, but I didn't like the one that I tried. It could have just been that one. I would second checking out the Weril. I haven't played one, but it looks like a Yamaha 321, but with a large shank leadpipe.
