Even though you are very careful by easing up on the drill pressure as you almost finished, there WILL be some filings still going past the new hole. I would remove the rotor AND put a piece of masking tape on the inside of the casing against the wall where you plan to drill (to catch those few filings). Then a thorough cleaning of the inside after smoothing out any burrs. Just my $.02.
