While a tuner may give you some hints about what the relative intonaton of your horn is, your ear will tell you if you are in tune with the ensemble. My tuner tells me that my piggy is quite sharp. But if I pull out, I am way flat of the ensemble that I regulary play with. I also believe that it is very difficult to tune to a tuner, and then carry that intonation over to an ensemble. It is such a dynamic thing that trying to go with a set parameter is a futile effort. As stated before, no ensemble matches the tuning at the end of a piece that they started with. A tuner is a roadmap to tell you what the tendencies are. After that, it's up to you.
