I am not anonimous. My opinions are state in the relevance that I expect this usage in good situations with good players who are musically able to do this with good taste. Even if my points are irrelevant in you opinion, they are back by the fact that at least I stick my first name on them with a relevant email address. I have never had an problem on any of my horns making the contra octave sound in tune and reasonable all the way from a YFB-621 to a Mel Culbertson 6/4. If you are using amateur groups that are not striving for this to sound as good as possible, than maybe your points stand. However, I am basing my opinion that this is used by well trained players who have full control over the timbre and intonation of their extended low range/pedal register. Sorry if I offended you whoever you are...
