I just discovered an curious tintype from 1881 on *that* auction service; if you need to find the listing, you know how; I'm not going to post it here.
What I found most interesting about the player's pose is that his right hand is on the valves as one might expect and his left hand is firmly clutching the main tuning slide. Does anyone know of a similar antique photo showing a tuning-slide and valve position involving a rotary valved tuba?
