I played a new, KICK *SS (band)piece by Eric Ewazen "LEGACY" a couple weeks ago...no need to drop it an octave. In the last movement, we were hittin' pedal CC's w/sixtuplets- LOUD!!! And what was the best part about it was that it (possibly half)was written in 5ths and octaves. This piece was premeired by the Westpoint Band some time ago and our Concert was the 3rd time performed ever. I don't recall who the 2nd band was...

Get your band to play this piece, you'll half to spend a lot of time practicing tounging in the pedal range, I had to.
