I was mainly thinking of all (especially higher) notes for this idea. Unless I'm a pro (which I certanly am not), and have perfect pitch (which I don't) I don't think there's any way in the world (I) could be confident enough to keep my left hand away from a slide for any length of time while practicing- OR PERFORMING!!!.
