I LOVE the compensating system myself, but it doesn't Magically fix intonation. I play a 981 now, because it's all I have access to, but as soon as I've got some more dosh, I'll be getting a 983 or something simillar. 4th valve on the side is about the same as having your 5th valve on the left... YOU CAN'T MOVE YOUR SLIDES.
