I tried numerous mouthpieces and FINALLY found that the PT-72 works AMAZINGLY well in the low register. Maybe the PT-64/5/6/? (the smaller versions, but still cup-shaped) also work well and offer an improved upper register, I don't know. BUT, the low (compensated) register notes just pop right out with the PT-72.

MPCS that didn't seem to work very well for me included: Bach 7,12,18, 24AW; Yamaha 67C4; Conn Helleberg; Wick (1L, 2L).

All this having been said, I still don't like the low register (4th valve combination notes) nearly as well as on non-compensating tubas, like my YEB-381 (soon to be for sale), for example.
