Hey Ken,

Interesting use of your spare time to "build" a tuba between the cracks of Eb and F. I do like the thought of an "E" tuba for Bydlo.

I've heard "Pictures" played many times (live and recordings - as we all have) with varying degrees of success of picking off that high G#. The best version I've EVER heard was a live concert over 20 years ago with the Long Beach Symphony (Southern California) with Randy Anglin playing EVERYTHING in "Pictures" including Bydlo on his old Kaiser bore Alexander CC tuba. Randy has this way of sliding half of his mouth out of the mouthpiece and can then play into the stratosphere! It was a truly amazing performance by an great tubist (so says his former student).

Cheers,

Bob
