I had all mine out, one at a time, over several years. One was impacted, was an awful experience (if they are impacted, go to an oral surgeon....don't let a dentist touch them!) and they also were pushing my front teeth out of line. The last one came out when it got a cavity, and it was in sideways. The advice below is good....but you should know that there is a pretty wide range of dental opinions on what "needs" to be done. Some dentists aren't happy unless they "rebuild" your mouth (much money for them, much discomfort/risk for you) and others are content to leave things alone until they cause problems, with a whole continuum in between. A 2nd opinion is a good idea, but always caveat emptor.
