My comments come from the operators end. For me the Yamaha has a more user freindly low register than the York. The Yamaha is also very agile and responsive in the upper register, as are the York tubas. However, both York tubas have a lively vibrant sound that I have not experienced on any other tuba. I love my Yamaha, it's a fantastic instrument but if I had the chance to run off with one of the Yorks well.......
